Obituary

Robert Joseph Emery, 85, of Dallas, passed away at his residence on Friday, May 6, 2022. He was born November 16, 1936, in Hartford, Connecticut, to the late Victor Joseph Emery and Marie Englehart Emery.  

Bob was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Bessemer City and was a United States Navy Veteran. He loved the Lord and his family with all his heart. Bob enjoyed spending his free time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lovingly known as Pepere, he leaves behind a legacy of love and memories. 

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years Paulette Carpentier Emery; children, Melinda Works (Larry), Mark Emery (Michelle), Diane Baron (Tim), Angel Mathewson (Dave); grandchildren, Chris Works, Sarah Works, Devin Works, Brian Works, Heather Lowery, Krista Musgrove, Ilissa Williams, Robby Williams, Timothy Baron, Amanda Turpin, Tyler Mathewson, Olivia Mathewson; great-grandchildren, Amory, Coraline, Anslee, Luke, Brynnley, Kamrynn, Adelynn, Harper, Carter, Wesson, Kennedy, Luke and Hallie; numerous nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at First Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. 

Bob’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church with Dr. Matt Mitchell officiating. 

Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at First Wesleyan Church.
