Matthew Pope, 28, of Bessemer City, passed away on May 26, 2022. He was born on June 3, 1993, in Gaston County to Dana Michelle Pope.

Matthew enjoyed skateboarding, photography, music, and art. He loved his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Cassie Pope; son, Kayden Trace Pope; mom, Dana Pope; maternal grandparents, Billy and Ruth Pope; uncle, David Lee Pope (Sandy); special cousin, Crystal Dowdle; special friends, Travis, Chase, and Alex; his mentor, Jim Long.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on June 1, 2022, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on June 1, 2022, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Long officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will have a candlelight vigil on his birthday, Friday, June 3, 2022, at 7:00 pm in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery at his grave.
