Mary Frances Tate McKenzie, 85, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021. She was born March 8, 1936 in Gaston County to the late Floyd James and Flora Morgan Tate.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Calvin Mitchem; and her second husband Homer Mckenzie.

Mary was a member of Westview Baptist Church and was a former member of Reagan Wesleyan Church.

Left to cherish her memories are her children Roxanne McPeters (Gary), Rocky Mitchem, and Ryan Mitchem (Julie); brother Bob Tate; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank her caregivers Anita and Dwayne Friday for all they did for their mom.

She will lie in state from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Sisk Butler Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, 2021.

Mary’s funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Sisk Butler Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.
