Obituary

Mandy Suzette Childers Simpson, 46, of Maiden, passed away at Atrium Health Lincolnton on January 19, 2022. She was born July 7, 1975, in Gaston County, to Patricia Hall Earls and the late Paul Nixion Childers, II.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Angela Nicole Childers Walker; brother Timothy Bryan Childers.

Mandy was a member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church, Bessemer City and was a United States Army Veteran. She loved trips to the beach, camping and singing. Mandy loved spending time with her family and her grandchild.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Raiford Franklin Simpson, Jr; children, Darian Walters, Jacob Walters, Heavenlee Angela Childers; stepson, KennyRay Simpson; brother, Jarrod Earls; sister, Renata Earls; mother, Patricia Hall Earls; stepdad, George Kenneth Earls; maternal grandmother, Nellie Huckabee Hall; paternal grandparents, Paul and Geraldine Nixion, I; grandson, Jaxon Bradley; nephew, Nicholas Earls; and niece, Rylee Smith.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sunset Lane Baptist Church.

Mandy’s funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on January 26, 2022, at Sunset Lane Baptist Church with Pastor Dickie Hannah officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
