Finley Garrison Best Jr.

Finley Garrison Best, Jr., 94, of Charlotte, formerly of Bessemer City, passed away at his residence on April 2, 2022. He was born January 22, 1928, in Gaston County, to the late Finley Garrison Best, Sr. and Minnie Lee Baldwin Best.

Garrison is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Frances Eleanor Holland Best; second wife, Mary Alice Boheler Best; adopted brother, Everett Best; son-in-law, Steve Kularski; grandson, Bradley Martin; and brother-in-law, Rev. James Ellis.

Garrison retired after 43 years of service at Rhyne Milling & Oil Company, Dallas, NC, where he was the owner for the last 12 years there. He loved farming, machine work, watching old westerns and had a passion for listening to gospel music. Garrison had a special love for all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memories are his children and their families: daughter, Delores Sosebee and husband James Sosebee; grandson, Timothy Sosebee and wife Shane Sosebee; great-grandchild, Shelby Sosebee; granddaughter, Crystal Diener and husband Kurt Diener; great-grandchildren, Jonah Diener, Alexis Nichols, and Sydney Diener; daughter, Phyllis Ann Allmon; granddaughter, Jennifer Hartsell and husband Travis Hartsell; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Victoria Hartsell; daughter, Ellen Kularski; grandson, Curtis Kularski, Chris Crews; daughter, Cindy Martin and husband Joe Martin; grandson, Joey Martin and wife Harmony Martin, great-grandchildren, Naiya, Layton, and Phoebe Martin; son, Randy Best and wife Leslie Best; grandchildren, Randi and Sydney Best; siblings, Eileen Best and Lucille Ellis.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Heaven Bound Baptist Church, 428 Costner School Rd., Bessemer City, NC 28016.

Garrison’s funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday on April 6, 2022, at Heaven Bound Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Moore and Rev. Travis Hartsell officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens.
