Dorothy Huskey

Dorothy “Dot” McKinnish Huskey, 77, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at home. She was born in Gaston County on May 9, 1943, to the late David Buren and Marjorie Crisp McKinnish.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Jack Richard Huskey, son Rodney Eugene Peeler, sisters Joyce Horne, Shirley Patterson, and Margaret James, brother Charles “Buck” McKinnish, son-in-law Robert Ham.

Dot was a member of City Church (Bethlehem Church) and retired from Pharr Yarns.

Left to cherish her memories are daughters Kimberly Walls and husband Mike of Gastonia, and Rhonda Ham of Gastonia; step-son Jack Huskey and wife Heather of Clover; step-daughter Elaine Tyra and husband Michael of Navarre; brother Jimmy McKinnish of Mt. Holly; brother-in-law Cook Horne of Shelby; grandchildren Clifton and Kandice Shedd of Gastonia, and Chelsea Ham of Gastonia, step-grandchildren Zachery, Zane, and Sophia Tyra of Navarre, and Chandler, Autumn, and Keaton Huskey of Clover; great-grandchildren Brycen, Leiam, Kolten Ham, Alexis Greene.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at City Church, Gastonia, NC.

Dot’s funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, August 10, 2020 at City Church with Rev. Dickie Spargo officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, NC.
