Bobby Gene Cole, 58, passed away at his residence with loved ones by his side on Monday, May 3, 2021. He was born June 11, 1962 in Gaston County to the late Cecil Lewis Cole Sr. and Mary Frances Haney Cole.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Cole, Jr., sister, Cecilia Lynn Putnam

Left to cherish his memories are his fiancé, Belinda Lovelace Riddle; sister, Debbie Braswell and husband Tommy; brothers, Rev. Richard Cole and wife Janet, Mike Cole and wife Paula; daughter, Bobbie Jean Cole; grandsons, Jackson and Connor; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog “Trixie”.

Bobby was a 1981 Bessemer City High School graduate. He was a member of Whetstone Lodge #515, Oasis Shriners and member and past president of Crowders Mountain Shrine Club. He loved all his Shrine and Mason brothers and was always just a phone call away if needed.

Bob was a plumber by trade and a hard worker. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, riding side by side with his friends and riding motorcycles in the Great Smoky Mountains. Bob was a fun-loving man and friend to everyone. He loved cooking and making his famous pecan pies during the holidays. Bob loved traveling and going on cruises with Belinda and friends.

Bob fought a courageous fight with cancer over the past 2 ½ years. The family would like to thank Hospice of Gaston County, Dr.  Linh O’Connor and staff and Dr. Mitch Costner and staff for their compassionate support, love, and assistance during this time.

He will lie in state from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Bob’s funeral service will be held 1:00 PM on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Cole officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens with Masonic Rites.
