Obituary

Bobby Carroll Carswell, 84, of Bessemer City, passed away at CaroMont Regional on August 4, 2022. He was born May 21, 1938, in Gaston County, to the late Dean Stanley and Mae Moss Carswell.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Joyce Ann Stinnett Carswell, daughter Carol Carswell.

Bobby was a United States Navy veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion, locally at Bessemer City American Legion Post 243 where he served on the Honor Guard. He retired from the steel building construction industry and was a local business owner. Bobby was a longtime member of First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Carmen C. and her husband, Pastor David Pittman, Candace Carswell Davis and husband Richard; grandchildren, Dalton Gowan (Kacie), Cheridan Pasour (Tyler), Chloe Pittman, Lonnie Pittman, Cameron and Connor Davis; great-grandsons, Kooper and Karter Gowan; sister-in-law Peggy Stinnett.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City.

Bobby’s funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on August 7, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City, with Dr. Matt Mitchell officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors.
