Wanda Lee Ruth Hancock

Wanda “Hoochie Mama” Hancock, age 81, of Gastonia, passed away at Robin Johnson House on August 22, 2023. She was born May 30, 1942, in Union County, Georgia to the late Duren Kuykendall and Rushie Bell Anderson Kuykendall.

She is preceded in death by son, Robert “Bill” Mosteller; brothers, Jerry Kuykendall, Mike Kuykendall; great grandchildren, Lil David Bolding, Jershea Bolding

Wanda will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was very carrying and would do anything for anyone, even if she did not know them. Remembering the great times that she left us in laughter as a cut up.

Left to cherish her memories are sons, Jeff Mosteller, Jerry Hancock II; daughter, Sandra “Dove” Bolding (Herbert); sisters, Sandra Davis (Chester), Gretta Youngblood (Ronald); special daughters-in-law, Debbie Mosteller, Tina Mosteller, Kim Hancock; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren with one on the way, along with lifelong best friend Carolyn Ruddisill.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2023.

Wanda’s funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor David Wyant officiating.
