Wanda Branson

Wanda Elizabeth “Wendi” Branson, 52, of Gastonia, passed away at Atrium Health Medical Center, Charlotte, on January 3, 2023. She was born December 14, 1970, in Cook County, IL, to Richard LeRoy Branson, Sr. and the late Peggy Ann Fulbius Branson.

She is preceded in death by her nephew, Christopher Queen.

Wendi was a compassionate RN who worked in local nursing homes and loved spending time at the beach. She was a Hunter Huss graduate from the Class of 1989 and played in the marching band. Wendi loved her family and especially her nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bayada Home Health Care for their care and compassion in taking care of Wendi.

Left to cherish her memory is her dad, Richard Leroy Branson, Sr; siblings, Vikki Queen (Ronnie), Richard Branson, Jr. (Suzanne), Pamela Paul (Malcolm); nephews, Andrew Queen (Brynn), Doug Branson (Caitie), Nick Branson; niece, Laura Branson,  Aaron Paul; grand-nieces & grand-nephews, Autumn, Jaxon, Austin Queen, and Grace Branson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City and at other times at the home of Vikki and Ronnie Queen.

A private graveside will be held at Walling Cemetery in Pikeville, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 205 Regency Executive Park Dr., Suite 102, Charlotte, NC 28217, in honor of Wendi.
