Virginia Scruggs

Virginia Ruth Poole Scruggs, 85, of Kings Mountain, passed away at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain on February 8, 2019. She was born October 16, 1933 in Cherokee County, SC to the late Jack and Mildred Lee Patrick Poole.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Dean Scruggs; daughter Vickie Carter, grandson Bruce Wayne Scruggs and sister Patsy Carolyn Poole.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Rodney Scruggs and wife Robin of Gastonia, Scott Scruggs and wife Tammy of Kings Mountain; daughters Sheila Wylie and husband James of Bessemer City, Myra Safrit and husband Johnny of Lowell, Lori Oliver and husband Ricky of Kings Mountain; brother Donald Lee Poole of Gaffney, SC 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia loved her family and grandchildren, bingo, traveling and vacations. She enjoyed gardening and raising tomatoes. Virginia never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City and at other times her son's Scott Scruggs 109 Heather Lane Kings Mountain, NC 28086.

Virginia's funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday February 13, 2019 at True Gospel Holiness Church, Kings Mountain with Rev. Rick Chapman officiating.

Interment will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.

The family would like to thank Hospice Cleveland County and White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain for the care of their mother.
