Virginia Milling Carpenter, 95, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. She was born on August 20, 1923 in Cleveland County to the late Jesse Milling and Etta Freeman Milling Webb.
Virginia was retired from Firestone Mills after 17 years, then she retired from Hardee’s after 26 years and was a member of the Gastonia TOPS.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Grafton “Woody” Woodrow Carpenter; 5 sons Jim, Wayne, Mike, Jerry, and Ronnie Carpenter; stepfather Leon James Webb; brother Jesse Milling, Jr.; grandson Doug Carpenter.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter in laws; brothers Leon Webb and James Milling; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Virginia’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Dennis Badger officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Westview Gardens Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Nurses and CNA’s at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain for their love and compassion for her care while she was with them.
