Verlin Maney

Verlin Robert Maney, age 72, passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at home. He was born on June 15, 1946 in Polk County Tennessee to the late Fird Verlin and Nancy Louise Burnette Maney. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy D. Maney and a son, Johnny Maney.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 49 years, Kathryn Smith Maney; sons, Robert Maney and wife Teresa, Randy Maney and wife Tonya, and Chris Maney and wife Tesia; daughter, Kathy L. Maney; brother, Paul Maney and wife Sandra; sisters, Edna Maney, Nelta Spurling and husband Gene; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Verlin was a longtime member of Freewill Church of Jesus Christ. He loved playing music with his brother Paul and also enjoyed singing and playing the banjo at nursing homes on weekends. Verlin loved his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service, to celebrate Verlin's life, will be held at 2 pm Monday, July 23, 2018 at Freewill Church of Jesus Christ with Pastors Jimmy Cash, Ray Burnette, Judd Burnette, Jimmy Burnette, and Junior Burnette officiating.

Interment will follow at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly.

Verlin's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday at the church.
