Thomas Johnson

Thomas Wayne Johnson, 68, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born in Gaston County on December 3, 1948 to the late Bodie M. and Sammie Alice Rhodes Johnson.

Wayne loved cooking delicious meals, eating, working puzzles and watching football.

He was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Wayne Johnson.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife, Myrna Elaine Gilreath Johnson; sister Edna J. Mercer; niece Sandra Gayle Mercer; grandchildren Kaden Johnson and Kelse Arrowood; great-grandchildren Karter Rush and Eli Cowart; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Keith Walker officiating.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.
