Therman Lamar Poole, 88, of Gastonia, passed away at home on January 12, 2023. He was born March 27, 1934, in Gaston County, to the late Virgil Benson Poole and Artie Rhyne Poole.
He is preceded in death by siblings Leonard Poole, Wilbur Poole, and Carol Dills.
Therman was a retired truck driver for Akers Motor Line and Carolina Freight after 32 years of service. After retirement he helped his wife Linda at Poole’s Florist. He loved farming, being at home and spending time with his family.
“The love of my life and best friend of 64½ years left today on a trip of no return. The angels said, do not worry, Linda, we will take care of him. My loss is their gain. He is smiling and walking through the Golden Gates, without worry and no pain. I will always be with you, and I will never leave you. I will always love you and I will see you soon. Until then…Love me”
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Warlick Poole; daughters, Tammy Busler (Larry), Lora Garmon (Ron); son, Ryan Poole (Megan); brothers, Wayne “Bud” Poole (Barbara), Ronnie Poole; grandchildren, Travis Preast, Lauren Garmon, Krissy Garmon; and step-grandchildren, Jessica Matthews, Kelly Matthews, Payton Busler, Nick Busler, and Abby Breland.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14, 2023.
Therman’s funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on January 15, 2023, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Bishop Ben Poole officiating.
Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
