Sue Carolyn Harding, 81, of Cramerton, passed away at her residence on March 10, 2023. She was born February 24, 1942, in Gaston County, to the late Millard C White and Edith Inez Payne White.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harding, Sr.; father of children, Jackie Don Polk; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Polk; sister, Judy Dean; brother, Jerry White; son-in-law Michael Boles.
Sue was a cake decorator for 30 years, she was known for her gingerbread men at Christmas, making over 300 every year. A talented seamstress who made clothes for her family. She was the “Boss” of the family and was known for saying “you catch more flies with honey”. Sue loved taking care of her boys and watching them anytime she could.
The family would like to thank Carolina Caring Hospice with a special thank you to her nurses Angel, Heather, Cassie, and Angela. Also, her dear neighbors.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Steven and Missy Lovell; daughter, Donna Boles; stepson Kevin and Sabrina Polk; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jena Barkley, Michelle Boles and Keith Necessary; great grandchildren, Nicholas Barkley, II, Maverick Boles; special friends, Jane Emory, and Frances Stiles; sister, Jane Deaver (Steve); fur babies, Bean and Daisy.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sisk Butler Funeral Home on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Sue’s funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Sisk Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Barnette officiating.
Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
