Ryan Christopher Wolford, 46, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on Monday, August 10, 2020. He was born May 31, 1974 in Orlando, Fl. to Don and Patti Walker Wolford.
Ryan was the Youth Pastor for 7 years at Firestone Wesleyan Church. He formerly worked with youth at Kings Mountain Church of the Nazarene, Titusville Church of God, Fl., Friends Community Church, Orlando, Fl., and Westside Community Church, Apopka, Fl. He graduated from Edgewater High School, Orlando, Fl. in 1993. Ryan received his ministerial license from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. He was a graphic artist and formerly worked at Quebecor and RR Donnelley. He had many jobs throughout his life, but ministry was his heart.
Ryan had a love for life and lived it loud and lived it large. He was the creator and the life of any party, and he never met a stranger. He was a natural prankster and no one was off limits. He had a smile that would light up a room and genuinely loved his family, friends, and everyone that he knew. Ryan was a good man. As much as he loved life, he loved his Lord and Savior more. His desire was to be with his Lord in Heaven and to take as many others as possible with him.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Elmer Wolford, who he loved and respected; maternal grandparents Emma Dell and Dan Ray Walker.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 26 years Cyndi Wolford; sons Kyle Wolford and wife Katie of Clover and Brock Wolford of the home; daughter Ryan Nicole Wolford of the home; his beloved grandson Luke Elmer Wolford; parents Don and Patti Walker Wolford of Apopka, Fl.; brother Sean Wolford and wife Rebekah of Apopka, Fl.; mother-in-law Mary Hardy and husband Raymond of Clover; sisters-in-law Corina McCorkle and husband Dr. Mike McCorkle of Orlando, Fl., Sherry Morgan of Clover and Christina Morgan of Wilmington; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.
Ryan's Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Firestone Wesleyan Church, Gastonia with Rev. Don Avore officiating.
