Ronald Summey

Ronald Bruce Summey, 63, passed away on Friday August 31, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 25, 1954 in Gaston County to the late Charlie and Martha Spearman Summey.

He was employed at A&E, Gastonia. He loved spending time with his family, making them laugh, working on cars and going fishing. He never met a stranger.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings Charlie and Troy Summey, Brenda Deason and Shirley Peterson.

Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 44 1/2 years, Debra Buchanan Summey; daughter Christy Barnes and husband Jason of Gastonia; sons Ronnie Summey and wife Rebecca and Kevin Summey and wife Shannon all of Bessemer City; grandchildren Ariel and Megan Barnes of Gastonia, Sarah, Nathaniel, Samuel, Kade, Caleb and Caila Summey all of Bessemer City; Brother James Summey and wife Ruth of Blacksburg, SC; sister Sara McKinnish of Raleigh; special nephew and family Michael and Sherry Buchanan, Trey and Gracie Buchanan; brothers-in-laws Dale, Clinton, and Howard Buchanan; sister-in-law Vanessa Summey; numerous nieces and nephews.

Ronald 's family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Chapel of Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Jerry Millwood and Dr. Gene Ware officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
