Robert Metcalfe

Robert Bryan Metcalfe, 47, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018. He was born on April 15, 1970 in Gaston County to Robert "Bob" and Diane Branks Metcalfe.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Elsie Metcalfe and Jack and Lurlean Branks; cousin Gerri Lynn Holbrook Davis.

Bryan was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bessemer City. He was an honor graduate from Bessemer City High School in 1988 and from Gaston College in 1991. Bryan was an Eagle Scout and received the God and Country award. He was an avid fisherman and loved hosting fish frys with his Mom and Dad.

In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Megan Metcalfe Joseph and husband Adam of Boone, NC; brother Clay Metcalfe and companion Judy Hawkins of Gastonia; aunts, Genell Holbrook and husband Edgar, Bobbie Branks Ware and husband Don, Jackie Branks Kincaid and husband Don; cousins Derek Ware and wife Gayla , Allison Ware Houser and husband Paul, Don Kincaid, Jr., David Kincaid and wife Amanda, Stephanie Kincaid Anderton and husband Drew, Lee Holbrook and wife Sandy.

A celebration of Bryan's life will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tripp Hord officiating.

His family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 prior to his service at the church.
