Robert Maney

Robert Dempsey Maney, 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 12th , 2018 at Testa Hospice House , Kings Mountain, N.C. He was born June 12, 1932 in Shooting Creek, Clay County N.C. to the late Samuel and Martha Bradshaw Maney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Taylor Maney, his second wife, Bobbie Jo Wehunt Maney, his son, Gary Dale Maney, his daughter, Karen Cheryl Maney, brothers, Rev. Doyle Maney, Rev. David Maney, Ruel Maney, and sisters, Opal Maney Mashborn, and Lottie Maney Spivey.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Rev. Jimmy Maney, Robbie Maney, Robert Kirk Black, Jr., daughters, Vickie Maney Register, Phyliss Black Jeter, Sandra Black Marullo. Grandchildren, Arden Maney Darnell, Jordan Maney, Joey Buckner, Danielle Williams, Brittney Curtis, Ponzie Black, Michelle Marullo Peeler, Justin Black, Tiffany Black. Great grandchildren, Savannah, Payton, Abigail and Lawrence. Also one brother, Delmar Maney.

Robert was a devoted member of 8th Street Church of God in Bessemer City. Robert loved his church and loved his Pastor and church family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and watching the Atlanta Braves. Robert was a United States Army Veteran. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will certainly be missed by all.

The family will receive friends on Friday September 14th, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:p.m. A celebration of Robert's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Pendleton, Rev. Jimmy Maney, and Rev. Tim Barrett officiating.

Interment will follow at LongCreek Baptist Church, Dallas N.C.
