Nancy Alice Nolen

Nancy Alice Nolen, age 83, formerly of Gastonia, passed away at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC on April 25, 2023. She was born June 30, 1939, in Jefferson County, AL to the late Edward and Louise Dickey Cooley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Nolen Sr; daughter, Lynn Cook.

Left to cherish her memories are her stepsons, Jim Nolen, Jr. (Kristi), David Nolen (Beverly), son, Eddie Nolen; daughters, Pat Franks (Duane), Leslie Erwin (Dewey); sisters, Judith Acton, Melissa Manzella (Brick); seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

She loved doing church secretarial work, missionary work, and volunteering for many years at the B.R.E.A.D. Inc. Community Food Bank in Gastonia to feed the hungry. She was very proud of the fact that she raised six children and stated this often.

Nancy’s funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2023, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
