Nancy Grant

Nancy LaCount Bess Grant, 83, of Bessemer City, passed away at her residence on December 25, 2022. She was born January 23, 1939, in Gaston County, to the late John Thomas LaCount and Lorene Childers Bowen.

She is preceded in death by brother, Larry LaCount; and grandson, Kevin Bess.

Nancy enjoyed traveling with her family, shopping with her daughters, the family dinners, and get-togethers.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Steve Bess (Cindy), Teresa Bess Boone (Bobby), Donnie Bess (Tina), Vickie Bess Absher (David “Bruce”)’; “mom”, Bonnie LaCount; brothers, Roger LaCount (Desi), Danny LaCount; grandchildren, Mackenzie Bess Eskew (Austin), Kelly Bess, Jaysha Hastings (Brandon), Ashley Hovis (Matt), Adrianne Bess, Casey Bess, Amy Herring (Andy), Cody Absher; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church, Bessemer City.

Nancy’s funeral service will be held 3:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church with Dr. Matt Mitchell officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
