Nadine Cole

Nadine Whisnant Cole, 94, of Gastonia, passed away at Brian Center on February 2, 2022. She was born December 6, 1927, in Lincoln County, to the late George Thomas Whisnant and Alpha Harriett Hedrick Whisnant.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. “Buck” Cole; son, Chuck Cole; grandson, Jace Cole; brothers, Paul, Lemuel, Clement, Carl, and Arnold Thomas Whisnant; sister, Jeanette Ruth McDougall.

Nadine was a member of Firestone Wesleyan Church and First Wesleyan “Faithfuls.” She was a member of the YMCA Water Aerobics Team and attended Central Wesleyan College (now Southern Wesleyan University).

Left to cherish her memories are her children, David Cole, and Jan Cole; grandchildren, Cole and Kyle Russell, Dennis Cole, Duane Cole (Nikki), Meredith Davenport (Joey), Sarah Roper Bowen (Josh); great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Davenport, Hunter Davenport, Ayla Cole, Liam Cole, Jacob Cole (Wendy), Anna Cole, Bodhi Cole Bowen, Heidi Slater, Holly Russell, and Ashton Russell; great-great-grandchild, Callum Scott Cole.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Firestone Wesleyan Church, Gastonia.

Nadine’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Firestone Wesleyan Church with Pastor Don Avore officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
