Michael Ghorley

Michael James Ghorley, Sr., 61, of Grovetown, Ga. passed away on March 14, 2016 at home. He was born on November 13, 1954 in Gaston County, to the late Cecil McKinley and Catherine Margaret Raines Ghorley.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Joyce Brown, Elizabeth Faye Ghorley, Mackie Jean Crumbly; brothers, Danny Joe Ghorley, Sr., Randy McKinley Ghorley, Sr., grandson, Matthew Luke Ghorley.

Michael is survived by his wife, Carla Smith Ghorley; sons, Michael James Ghorley, Jr. of Kings Mountain and Crystal Ghorley of Bessemer City, Randy Steven Ghorley of Dallas; daughter Marci Mauldin and husband Josh of Cherryville; step-children, Wayne Postell and wife Maria of Dallas, "Lit" Postell of Grovetown, Ga.; brothers, Larry Ray and wife Linda of Gastonia, Jackie L. Ghorley and wife Donna of Dallas; sister, Cathy Sue Johnson of Bessemer City; special niece, Angela Aldridge of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Wesley Ghorley, Kristin Ghorley, Gracie Ghorley, Michael Ghorley, III, Josh Mauldin, Cassie Postell, Mallory Postell, Jacob Postell.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel.

Interment will follow at Sunnyside Baptist Church Cemetery, Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, March 18, 2016 at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
