Mary Stephenson

Mary Jo Hodge Stephenson, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday May 18, 2018 while at Brian Center, Gastonia. She was born September 13, 1935 in Clay County to the late Floyd and Emma Williams Hodge.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Stephenson, son Robert Stephenson; daughter Mary Lois Stephenson.

Left to cherish her memories is her children Brenda Purkey of Bessemer City, Randy Keith Skelton of Morganton, Richard Stephenson of Lenoir, Ruth Ann Lyons of Lexington, KY, stepson Clinton Stephenson of York, SC; sister Sallie Stiles of Andrews; brother Claude Hodge of Andrews; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia with great-grandson Garrett McCluggage officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to her service at Sisk-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services, Bessemer City.
