Lois Briggs

Lois Ilene Briggs, 82, of Gastonia, passed away at Accordius Health on January 13, 2023. She was born August 9, 1940, in Gaston County, to the late Carl Eli Briggs and Blanche Edna Smith Briggs.

She is preceded in death by siblings, Donald Briggs, Wayne Briggs, Bennie Briggs, Kenneth Briggs, and Velma Briggs Carter.

Lois was a lifelong member of the Firestone Wesleyan Church. She worked in Gaston County Schools for over 30 years before retiring. Lois was well loved by all that knew her. She loved going to the mountains of West Virginia to spend time with her family. The family wishes to thank the staff of Accordius for the loving care given to Lois.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Shirley Briggs Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Firestone Wesleyan Church on Monday, January 16, 2023.

Lois’s funeral service will be held 12:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Firestone Wesleyan Church with Pastor Don Avore, Chaplain Nikki Fitzpatrick and Rev. Scott Rudisill officiating.

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery.
