Kathy June Lancaster

Kathy June Phillips Lancaster, age 74, of Bessemer City, originally from Kannapolis passed away after a courageous fight on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC on October 7, 1949, to the late Julian Fred and Katherine Christine Dixon Phillips. Kathy married the love of her life, Alan Wayne Lancaster, in 1971. They then moved to Bessemer City in 1972, where they began their life together and raised their family. During her career, Kathy worked as a paramedic for 22 years with Gaston County EMS, where she was among the first to build and start the paramedic training program. Then later went to Lincoln County EMS where she retired in 2003. She loved the holidays and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and great granddaughter Chloe Hullender.

Along with her husband, those left to cherish her memory include her brother Eddie (Nancy) Phillips; children Timothy (Lisa) Lancaster of Dallas, NC and Bradley (Heather) Lancaster of Farmville, NC; grandchildren Elizabeth (Andrew) Hullender, Katilan Smith, Ariel (Alan) Thompson, Raislyn Lancaster, and Kylen Lancaster; great-grandchildren Riley Hullender, Aekley Postell, Avalyn Thompson, Braylon Holden, Alyssa Holden, Morgan Smith, and Logan Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Kathy will follow in the chapel at 4:00 pm with Rev. Oscar Stalcup officiating. Inurnment will be with the family. Flowers or donations may be sent to Gaston Hospice for the love, care, and support that they have provided.
