Joyce Carswell

Joyce Ann Stinnett Carswell, 77, passed away on Saturday January 14, 2017. She was born on August 26, 1939 in Gaston County to the late Ruel Lester and Annie Sue Wright Stinnett.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy McManus.

Left to cherish her memories are loving husband of 55 years, Bobby Carswell; her daughters, Carmen C. and her husband, Pastor David Pittman of Candler, NC, Carol Carswell of Bessemer City, and Candace Carswell Davis and husband Richard of Boiling Springs, NC; grandchildren, Dalton Gowan (Kacie), Cheridan Pasour (Tyler), Chloe Pittman, Lonnie Pittman, Cameron and Connor Davis; great grandchild, Kooper Gowan; Sister, Peggy Stinnett; brother-in-law, John McManus; niece, Julie Farlow (Jim).

Joyce was a homemaker and she provided a loving home for Bobby and their three daughters. She was raised in the Baptist Church and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bessemer City for 40 years. Later in life Joyce was a longtime member of First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City.

Her funeral service will be held at 3pm Tuesday, January 17th, 2017 at First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City with the Rev Wes Brown, and the Rev. Mark Tolan officiating.

Interment will follow Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 prior to her funeral at the Church.
