Johnny Phillip Jarrell, 63, of Greensboro, passed away at Moses Cone Hospital on August 9, 2023. He was born July 17, 1960, in Habersham County Georgia, to the late Phillip Miller Jarrell and Mary Claudette Abernathy.
Jarrell served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Serving as an Aircraft Mechanic in the military before working in the commercial air lines for US Airways and American Airlines. Johnny will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. A Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Braves, and Georgia Bulldogs fan that enjoyed any game.
Left to cherish his memories are spouse, Bertha Hernandez Jarrell; sons, Michael Jarrell, Matthew Jarrell (Jenny); sisters, Sherry Jarrell Caldwell (Steve), Debra Jarrell Moore Vick (Dave); grandchildren, Victoria Hope Jarrell, Olivia Grace Jarrell, Carter Thanh Jarrell, Oliver Villa-Hernandez, Ethan Villa-Hernandez, Jayden Hernandez, and Daniel Hernandez.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
Johnny’s graveside service will be at the Salisbury National Cemetery on Thursday August 17, 2023, at 9:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Gomez officiating.
