John Foreman

Bessemer City, North Carolina

John Lewis Foreman, 82, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017, at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. He was born March 27, 1935 in Calhoun Falls, SC, son of the late John Foreman, Jr. and Ollie Wideman Foreman.

John was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and he retired from Avery Dennison Manufacturing. He was a volunteer fireman for Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sturgis Foreman; sister Mary Jane Foreman.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Janice Thomas Bentley and husband Jim, Susan Blackburn and husband Steve all of Kings Mountain; son Rev. Allen Lewis Foreman and wife Donna of Belmont; sister, Lillian Hambrick and husband Gene of Gastonia; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 prior to the service at the church.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Concord United Methodist Church with Dr. Roger Woodard officiating.

Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery, Bessemer City.

Memorials may be made to Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department, 2577 Tryon Courthouse Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
