Jerry Somerset

Jerry Douglas Somerset, Sr., 76, of Bessemer City, passed away on September 13, 2016 at Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC. He was born on February 7, 1940 in Gaston County, to the late John S. Somerset and Louise Gertrude Hitchcock Brown.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Dougan Somerset.

Jerry was a member of the Philanthropic Lodge #32 in York, South Carolina.

Jerry is survived by his son, Christopher T. Somerset of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Matthew Dalton Somerset and Cameron Douglas Somerset.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Ravan officiating.

Interment will follow at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
