James Burleson

James "Jimmy" Blair Burleson, 70, went to be with the Lord on Saturday September 29, 2018. He was born September 2, 1948 in Gaston County to the late Tarp Burleson and the late Hazel Ledford Burleson Monday.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Ann Taylor Burleson; son, Eric Burleson; daughter, Julie B. Farmer and husband Dusty; grandchildren, Erika Burleson, Megan Moffitt and husband Micah, Tiffany Burleson, Bradley Farmer, Kaitlyn Burleson; great-granddaughter, Eva Hester; siblings, Faye Jones, Jean Richard, Sue Palmer, and Tarp Burleson, Jr.

Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army (101st Airborne Division). He was also a member of First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City. Jimmy was a devoted husband, and the greatest dad a son and daughter could ask for.

A Celebration of Jimmy's life, officiated by Pastor Wes Brown, and Rev. Fain Farmer, will be held at 2pm Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at First Wesleyan Church Family Life Center, Bessemer City followed by military honors.

Burial will be private.

Jimmy's family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 prior to the service in the Family Life Center.
