Herbert Dixon

Herbert Lee Dixon Sr., 87, of Tennessee Avenue, passed away on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gaston County on June 5, 1929 to the late James and Nellie Mack Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James G. Dixon Jr., sister, Judy Boling,

Left to cherish his memories are is loving wife of nearly 68 years, Mary Ruth Dixon; his sons, Herbert L. Dixon Jr, and Duane Dixon (Gina) all of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Duane Dixon Jr., Ashlee Lunsford (Michael), John Dixon, Herbert L. Dixon III (Danelle), Ashley Lewis (Damon), Todd Parker; great-grandchildren, Allie, Jaylin, Johnathen, Bailee, Emma, Maleiya, Chase, Carson, Camden and Cooper; his brothers, Thomas and Charles; his sisters, Jennette, Irene, Betty, Barbara

Lee was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving for over 24 years.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday October16, 2016 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with the Rev. Tony Franklin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City with military honors given by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.
