Florence Yvonne Hicks Patterson, 79, of Shelby, formerly of Bessemer City, passed away March 5, 2017 at Blue Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hendersonville, NC. She was born in Gaston County to the late Guy Olen and Pearl Hardin Hicks on March 19, 1937.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Hicks; sisters, Ella May Hilliard, Juanita Hawkins, Beatrice McCormick, Gladys Perry Garner.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Scott Butler and wife Lynda of Shelby; sisters, Frances Taylor and husband Monroe, Rev. Dorothy Lowery all of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Amy Butler Hastings and husband Kevin of Kings Mountain, Patrick Butler and wife Lisa of Belmont; great-grandchildren, Austin Hastings, Isabell Hastings.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private.
