Edward Thomas "Ed" Taylor, age 89, passed away on Monday October 29, 2018 at Preston House of Charlotte. He was born July 14, 1929 in Gaston County to the late Luther Allen and Mattie Ellen Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 69 years, Ethel Mae Goins Taylor; brothers Henry, James, Paul, Carl and Ernest Taylor; sisters Louise Looper, Lizzie Mae Taylor, and Geneva Buchanan.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Diane Taylor Herndon and husband David; granddaughter Michelle Herndon.

Ed attended Bessemer City Schools and was a longtime member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church of Bessemer City, where he served as Junior Warden. He also retired from Osage Mill after 36 years of service. Ed was a wonderful man, and a loving father. We are going to miss him greatly.

A Celebration of Edward's life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 31, 2018 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel with Rev. Connie Connley officiating.

His family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 pm prior to her service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, PO Box 611, Bessemer City.
