Edgar Robinson

Edgar Charles Robinson, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Robin Johnson House. He was born on October 2, 1925 in Gaston County, son of the late Edgar Charles Sr. and Addie Ferguson Robinson.

He was also preceded in death by sons, Eric Carroll Robinson and Alan Chris Robinson; and sisters, Dorothy Talbert and Shirley Robinson Meir Y Teran.

Those left to cherish Edgar's memories are his loving wife of 42 years, Shirley Ann Rose Robinson; sons, Edgar Charles Robinson III and fiancée Shirley, Tracy Albert Robinson and wife Terri, and Jon Robinson; daughter, Elizabeth Annette Robinson; sister, Marjorie Humphries and husband Ralph; grandchildren, Nikki, John, Christy, Chris, Chad, Tonda and Eric; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Edgar was veteran of the United States Army who served in World War II. He was a member of Lakeshore Christian Fellowship in Gastonia. Edgar was the retired owner and operator of Modern Transportation Service for many years. His family offers special thanks to Rescare and the nurses and staff of Robin Johnson House for their care, prayers and support during this difficult time.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:45 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Lakeshore Christian Fellowship, 2200 Brookneal Drive in Gastonia.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the church with Pastor Robert Rosales officiating.

Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, with military honors
