Douglas Cook

Douglas "Doug" Frank Cook, Sr., 73, of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 4, 2018. He was born May 12, 1944 in Cleveland County, son to the late Bynum H. and Ruth Green Cook.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Dian Cook, his children, Donna and "Tiny"; and his brother, Johnny Cook.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons and daughters-in-law, Doug Cook, Jr., David and Wanda Cook, Richard and Gina Cook; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Lynn Benefield; brother, Pete Cook; sister, Shirley Hargett and husband Hawk; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at New Hope Church of God, Gastonia, with Pastor Chris Seagle and Rev. Robin Taylor officiating.

His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 prior to his service at the church.

Interment will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
