Dorothy "Dottie" Breakfield Swift, 71, of Bessemer City passed away on Saturday June 24, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. Born April 12, 1946, in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late John T. Breakfield and Dorothy "Dot" Long Perry.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant daughters; Tammy, and Shannon.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Tom Swift, Sr.: sons, Steve Swift and wife Marie, Tommy Swift, Jr. and wife Melody, Brian Swift and wife Paula; sisters Betty Dawson and husband David of Shelby, and Diane Popwell of Bessemer City; brother, Edward Perry and wife Donna of Cherryville; two grandsons, and five granddaughters.
