Doris Mcswain

Doris Bright McSwain, age 88, of Gastonia, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. Born October 15, 1928 in Cherokee County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Bright and Louise Smart Bright.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zane McSwain; three sons, Zane Darran McSwain, Keith McSwain, Ronnie Wylie; two brothers, Ernest Bright, Leroy Bright; four sisters, Lizzy Brown, Geneva Price, Virgie Bright and Florence Walker.

Doris was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Gastonia.

Survivors include three of her children, Larry Wylie of Lincolnton, Vivian Wylie of Lincolnton, Debora White of Gastonia; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her very close friend and sister-in-law, Doris Bright.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend James Drennan officiating.

Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home.
