Diane Waldeck

Diane Gayle Shaffer Waldeck, 65, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Thursday March 1, 2018. She was born on September 2, 1952 in Cattaraugus County, New York. Daughter to the late Kenneth Shaffer (Ardith Allen) and Doris Schwab Bhe (Norman Bhe).

Diane spent her time with her devoted husband by her side. She enjoyed family gatherings and holiday celebrations with specific detail to family traditions. Diane was very talented and creative and expressed this through her oil painting, photographs, sewing, woodworking and gardening. She took pride in helping others and offered support to anyone in need. Diane had a special place in her heart for her pets and treated them as if they were a part of the family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Norman Bhe, and Wayne Bhe of Fayeville, NC, Kenneth Shaffer Jr., and Andrew Shaffer of Eldred, PA, Joseph Bhe of Bradford, PA, and Sharon Towner of Smethport, PA.

Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of 35 years, Bruce Waldeck; daughters Leslie D. Kio (Track) of Port Allegany, PA, Kelly J. Irons Heffner (Danny) of Kings Mountain NC, sons, Joshua Waldeck (Paula) of Shelby, NC, Jonathan Waldeck of Rothbury, MI; siblings Stephen Shaffer (Leatrice) of Ridgeway, PA, Una Hall (Larry) of Westfield, PA, Catherine Zombro (Tom) of Myerstown, PA, Joyce Slade (Melvin) of Smethport, PA, Robin Goss (Phil) of Wasilla, AK; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Diane's life, officiated by Rev. Cindy Spicer, will be held at 4:30 pm Sunday, March 4, 2018 in the Sisk-Butler Chapel, Bessemer City.

Her family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
