Cloie Irene Harmon Phifer

Cloie Irene Harmon Phifer, 95, of Bessemer City, passed away at Robin Johnson House on April 16, 2024. She was born March 19, 1929, in Gaston County, to the late Charlie Vandiver Harmon and Clarisse Emma Honeycutt Harmon. 


She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Warren Harmon, Ralph Harmon, and Jim Harmon; sister, Hazel Thomas; sister-in-law, Hazel Harmon; grandson, Joshua Phifer. 


Cloie was a faithful and lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Bessemer City. She was an avid reader and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all that she met. 


Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 75 years, A.G. Phifer; son, Jimmy Phifer (Jeanine); daughter, Stephanie Balderson ( the late, Tom); grandchildren, Thomas Ashley Balderson; Lindsey Masiello (Frankie); great grandchildren, Talmadge Masiello and Gage Masiello; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends that loved her dearly. 


Cloie’s Graveside Service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City with Rev. Olin Byrum III and Rev. Oscar Stalcup officiating.
