Casper “Pete” Calloway Wiggins, 77, of Bessemer City, passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 22, 2023. He was born Saturday December 15, 1945, in Gaston County, to the late Casper Calloway Wiggins Sr. and Ina Crisp Wiggins.
He is preceded in death by brothers, James Robert Wiggins, Lloyd Wiggins, Edgar Charles Wiggins, Billy Ray Wiggins; sisters, Dorothy W. Phifer, Mary Elizabeth Wiggins, Margaret Louise Wiggins.
Pete retired from Wix Dana after 32 years of service and with the Gaston County Sheriff’s Office after 12 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bessemer City. Members of the community will remember “Pete” coaching little league baseball for the optimist club for many years.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Mary Beth Isenhour Wiggins; son, Eric Wiggins (Kenyetta); daughter, Lindsay Caldwell (Christopher); brother, William “Bill” Wiggins; sisters, Frances Wiggins, Anne Wiggins; grandchildren, Tyler Wiggins and Gracyn Caldwell.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home with Rev Mike Criswell officiating.
The Wiggins family ask that memorials be made to the Gaston Hospice, and would like to send a special thank you, for all the care that they provided.
