Carol Lee Monroe Brown, age 65, passed away at home on Monday May 22, 2017. She was born September 2, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late George William and Elsie Augusta Blische Scott Monroe.

Carol was a former employee of National Textile, Arlington Plant, where she worked as a spinner for many years. She also attended Charity Independent Baptist Church, Gastonia. Carol also loved giving a helping hand to those in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Coleman.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 12 years, Ned Junior Brown; daughter Crystal Michelle Bailey of Gastonia; brothers, John Monroe, and Harry Monroe all of Gastonia; sisters Georgia Ann Champion and husband Jerry of Gastonia, Bertha Louise Haney and husband Jack of Dallas; grandchildren, Jimmy Franklin Dickson, Jr. and Christy Rivers both of Gastonia; great-grandchildren, Cheri Rivers, Annabelle Rivers, and Eric Hall.

Her graveside service will be held at 2 pm Friday May 26, 2017 at Hillcrest Cemetery, Mt. Holly with Rev. Jerry David Hall III officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family requests that any memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Reserch Hospital.
