Billy Young

Billy “Bill” Hugh Young, 89, of Bessemer City, passed away at home on December 29, 2022. He was born October 09, 1933, in Cleveland County, to the late Victor Burton Young and Havana Brown Young.

He is preceded in death by his former wives, Eleanor Draper Young, Merilyn Young; brothers, Russell Young, Donald Young, Bonnie Young, Burton Young; sisters, Martha Leonhardt, Patricia Davis

Bill was a United States Navy Veteran during the Korean War. He retired from Rodger’s Builders, Charlotte, NC and was also the owner of Young’s Construction Company. Bill was an avid fisherman and liked restoring cars.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughters, Billie Bane (Jim), Laura Poole; stepdaughters, Denise Knight (Wade), Linda Baldwin, Jeanie Razo; stepson, Douglas Wenzel (Donna); companion, Janet King; brother, Steve Young (Janie); sisters, Betty Jo George, Frances Beam (Jr); grandchildren, John, Steven, Kimberly, James Jr., Matthew, and numerous step grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Bill’s graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Monday on January 2, 2023, at Westview Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Jason Moore officiating.
