Betty Frances Bradshaw Goforth, 85, of Gastonia, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on September 25, 2021. She was born March 18, 1936, in Gaston County to the late Coy Thomas and Bryte Bell Gilbert Bradshaw.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray Bradshaw, Coy T. Bradshaw, Jr, and Robert Bradshaw; grandson, Mitch Kayler; beloved aunt and uncle, Flora and Willard Stiles; nephew, Bobby Dean Bradshaw.
Betty was a lifelong member of Firestone Wesleyan Church. She was an avid supporter of Hephzibah Children’s Home for over 50 years. Her family meant the world to her and she loved playing with her grandbabies. In her spare time, she loved to take care of her roses and feed the birds.
Betty’s family wishes to honor her special caregivers, Nikki Orr, Crystal Sisk, Angie Herron, Michelle Barbee, and Cathy Fuller.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, Hicks Goforth; daughters, Jane G. Bridges, and Suzanne G. Kayler (Robert); grandchildren, Andy Herms (Lisa), Wesley Herms (Brittany), Cody Bridges (Danielle), Elizabeth Meek (Malcum), Eric Rogers, and Emma Kayler; great-grandchildren, Liam Meek, Mason Meek, Declan Meek, and William Herms; brothers, William Bradshaw (Pat), and Willard Bradshaw (Pat); sister, Ruth Jane Posey (Gary); numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 1:45 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Firestone Wesleyan Church.
Betty’s funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Firestone Wesleyan Church with Rev. Don Avore officiating.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Firestone Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 1700 Union Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054.
