Betty Rose Bumgardner

Betty Rose Hunt Bumgardner, 77, of Gastonia, passed away at home on August 1, 2024. She was born March 22, 1947, in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late Wilbert, Sr. and Ida Mae Cummings Hunt.

She is preceded in death by her parents along with brothers, Leo Hunt, Wilbert “Junior” Hunt, Jr, and Robert “Anthony” Hunt; nieces Michelle Oxendine and Leandra “Dana” Hunt; sister-in-law, Connie Hunt.

Left to cherish her memories are loving husband of 57 years, Franklin “Buzz” Bumgardner; son, Sean Bumgardner, of Forest City; daughters, Dawn Bumgardner, of Gastonia and Sherry Garrett and Chad Farris, of Bessemer City; granddaughters, Ashley Garrett and Alexis Bumgardner; brother, Leon Hunt, of Lumberton, North Carolina; sister, Mary Bonds, of Jacksonville, Florida; sisters-in-law, Jean Hunt and Rosa Hunt, both of Lumberton, North Carolina; special neighbors, Shelia Newsome and Sharon Tucker; numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful lifelong friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Monday, August 5, 2024.

Betty’s Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 pm with Pastor Bret Wiley officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
