Barbara Trakas

Barbara Turner Trakas, 87, of Bessemer City, passed away at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on March 1, 2022. She was born December 26, 1934, in Gaston County, to the late Thomas Manning and Ora Mae Turner.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Chris Theo Trakas; son, Thomas Trakas; daughter-in-law, Melody Foster Trakas.

Barbara was a member of First Wesleyan Church, serving on the board and being of service wherever she could.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Chris Trakas. Jr. (Stefanie), Timothy Trakas (Emily), and Terry Trakas (Christy); 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, in the sanctuary, at First Wesleyan Church.

Barbara’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church with Pastor Matt Mitchell officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
