Alfred Morris Brown, 74, of Bessemer City, passed away at CaroMont Regional on April 23, 2023. He was born May 11, 1948, in Gaston County, to the late Angus Morris and Ethel Barnes Brown.

He is preceded in death by brother, E.G. Brown; sister, Norma Ledwell.

He was an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam. He also served for 30 years with the Army National Guard. One of his favorite hobbies was a ham radio operator, and his call sign was KE4TLE. He also loved antique engines, Cotton Ginning Days, and loving on his great grandbabies.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Glenn Brown; daughter, Angie Hibberts (Tore); brother, Marty Brown; grandchildren, Chris Brown (Ashley), Brandon Stevens (Harley), Haley Silva (Hugo); great-grandchildren, Lily Silva, Catalina Stevens, Levi Silva.

A private graveside service will be held at Gaston Memorial Park with military honors, Reverend Dennis White officiating.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
