ADDIE  ICENHOWER



Addie Williams Icenhower, 91, of Gastonia, passed away July 10, 2012, at Peak Resources, Gastonia.  She was born November 10, 1920, in Graham County to the late William Bryson

"Willie" and Betty Evelyn "Evaie" Roberts Williams.



Addie was carried home into the arms of her Heavenly Father surrounded by her loving family. Though her eyes were dim and her body weak while on earth, she now beholds all of Heaven's glory.  She loved gardening, her church, gospel singing and most of all her family gatherings and celebrations.  Addie was a member of Modena Street Baptist Church in Gastonia and the Daughters of the America Revolution. What she lacked in sight she made up for in determination.  Addie leaves behind a lifetime of memories to all who knew her.



She was preceded in death by her  husband Dan Carlton Icenhower; daughter Eva Poarch, and infant children Addie Cloe, James Charles, Isaiah, and Baby Boy ( Dan, Jr.); granddaughter Tonya Bland and grandson Matthew Parr; sisters, Ruth McCall, Frankie Carringer;  brothers, Weaver, Bob, Ray, and Oliver Williams.



Addie is survived by her daughters, Evelyn Bland and husband Bill of Holden Beach, Elaine Glenn and husband Ken of Bessemer City, Martha Parr and husband Willie, Jr. of Dallas, son-in-law, Ernest Poarch, Sr. grandchildren, Ernest Poarch, Jr.,  Karena Walsh, Darlene Braswell, Daniel Glenn, Amy Shortridge, Jonathan Parr, James Parr; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Sarah, Sara, Cameron, Caleb, Cole, Joseph, Kaitlin, Tyler, Makenzie, Savannah, Matthew, great-great grandson, Aaron; extended large and loving family including nieces and nephews.



A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Modena Street Baptist Church, Gastonia with Rev. William Mauney, Rev. D. R. Shortridge officiating.



Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.



Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM at the church.
