IDA LACKEY
Ida Belle Kistler Lackey, 97, formerly of 516 Chateau Drive, Gastonia, died February 9, 2010, at Robin Johnson House, Dallas. She was born June 13, 1912, in Lincoln County, NC, to the late Lawrence Lester and Bessie Mae Blackburn Kistler.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM Sunday at Loray Baptist Church, Gastonia, with Dr. Kent Crawford and Rev. Raymond White officiating.
INTERMENT: Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia.
VISITATION: 7:00 - 9:00 PM Saturday at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home, Bessemer City.
Mrs. Ida was employed with Rex Mills for 17 years and was formerly employed with Tony’s Ice Cream and Getty’s Cleaners. She was also a seamstress. She never met a stranger; she loved gardening, cooking and making clothes.
SURVIVORS: son: Blair Lackey of Gastonia; daughters: Sandra Abernathy of Bessemer City, Julia Norton and husband Johnny of Gastonia; brother: Frank Kistler and wife Sue of Granite Falls; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren
PRECEDED IN DEATH: first husband: Buster Fathering; second husband: Carl Jackson Lackey; daughter: Shelby Jean Johnson; brothers: Wilford Kistler, Yates Kistler, Ken Kistler, John Kistler, Bud Kistler; sisters: Mozelle Kistler, Mary Deaver
